Khabib and Tony Ferguson partook in a wild press conference in Las Vegas on Friday evening.
The two fighters are set to go head-to-head at UFC 249 in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter.
They have been set to fight four times in the past but numerous reasons meant that the bout has never taken place. The two look set to finally fight when they get in the ring together on April 18 in New York.
Khabib is putting a lot on the line when the two meet next month.
The Russian has won all 28 of his professional MMA fights and is the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion.
Ferguson was previously the Interim UFC lightweight champion after winning the belt in October 2017.
Despite being stripped of that title due to injury, Ferguson brought that belt with him to the press conference.
And tensions boiled over when the two went head-to-head.
Ferguson laid down his old belt on the floor as the two fighters exchanged words.
The words went back and forth until Khabib snapped and then kicked Ferguson's old belt off the stage.
Watch the moment below:
Khabib well and truly lost his cool. Ferguson didn't seem too bothered by that, mind.
He actually looked rather proud that he'd managed to bait his rival into displaying such anger.
The two traded insults throughout the evening.
Khabib constantly referred to Ferguson as 'sunglasses' and claimed that he would 'eat him' in a street fight.
Khabib also called Ferguson a 'liar', to which the American celebrated getting under his skin.
Ferguson also taunted Khabib's weight, saying he was 'fat' and the same size as Daniel Cormier.
Khabib called Ferguson 'stupid' but remained respectful about his skill as a fighter.
"Why people don't like [Ferguson], it's because he's a stupid guy," he said, per MMA fighting. "Nobody understands him, honestly, he looks stupid, that's why nobody likes him. But he's a very good fighter and I respect his skill, that's why he's here."
We can't until the two get in the ring together next month.
